ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - The Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB) National-100 Index began the week with a buying trend. The index increased 97 points to 18,514 during the opening five minutes of today's first session. Stocks gained 0.53 percent in value.
The index had closed on Friday with a gain of 126 points to finish at 18,416.39. Shares gained 0.68 percent in value and the total trading volume was 840 trillion 712 billion 56 million Turkish Liras. The composite index reached 18,490.4 points at its highest level while dropping to 18,152.33 at its lowest level on Friday.
Inflation numbers for June announced over the weekend may strengthen the index. Investors will follow closely the results of auctions organized by the Turkish Central Bank this week. The IMKB is expected to close today at between 17,950 and 18,650 points.
