ANKARA - Russian Air Forces Commander General Vladimir Mikhailov visited Turkish Air Forces Commander General Ibrahim Firtina on Monday.
Gen. Firtina, after welcoming Gen. Mikhailov with a military ceremony said that they would discuss issues concerning air forces of both countries and they would search for the ways and means to improve relations.
Meanwhile, Gen. Mikhailov expressed his pleasure over the visit and he said that he would have the opportunity to visit some military units and air bases in Turkey.
Gen. Mikhailov said that Turkey and Russia, as two neighbor countries, have to be friends. He added that the Black Sea, which separates two countries, should actually unite them, stating that Black Sea is the common sea of Turkey and Russia.
