LONDON - British Finance Minister Alistair Darling on Wednesday cut his forecast for growth of the British economy this year to 1.75-2.25 percent amid ongoing financial market uncertainty.
The new forecast, unveiled in Darling's first annual budget statement before parliament, compared with the government's previous estimate of 2.0-2.5 percent given in October.
