ISTANBUL - Security forces detained 14 demonstrators who attempted to throw fire-bombs in a protest in Istanbul on Sunday.
A group of nearly 40 people gathered in front of the Free Society Party headquarters in Aksaray neighborhood of Istanbul.
Members of the group wanted to make a press release including their demands for release of Abdullah Ocalan, the head of the terrorist organization of PKK, from prison.
When some of them attempted to chant slogans and throw fire-bombs, security forces warned the group to disperse immediately.
Later, security forces intervened in demonstrators who did not abide by warnings.
Clash erupted between security forces and demonstrators.
Some demonstrators threw fire-bombs on security forces.
Sources said that 14 demonstrators were detained.
Tight security measures have been taken in the neighborhood.
