ANKARA - Devlet Bahceli, chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) said Tuesday launching political processes for political solution inside Turkey lied at the center of U.S.'s understanding of combatting terrorist organization PKK.
Speaking at his party's group meeting in the parliament, Bahceli said political solution suggestions appeared in every platform in the aftermath of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush on November 5th, 2007 at the White House.
He said there were reports of Washington administration on the issue, and American officials of all ranks openly made calls to Turkey about this.
"For U.S. which got caught up in Iraqi swamp, the stability and security of the regional administration of Barzani are a goal higher in priority than Turkey's national security and combat against terrorism. Therefore President Bush carried the solution of PKK terrorism stemming from the north of Iraq into Turkey, and gave PM Erdogan the mission of solving the problem of terrorism and separatism -- which have internal and external aspects-- over Turkey's national unity and unitary political structure," said Bahceli.
