Foreign Minister Babacan In Senegal

DAKAR - Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan who is currently in Senegal to attend a meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) met Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki late on Monday.
Babacan and Mottaki discussed regional matters during their meeting.
Babacan noted that separation in Palestine should immediately be ended, and parties should exert efforts, and mutual efforts were necessary to end rocket attacks of Hamas as well as Israel's use of force.
Regarding presidential elections in Lebanon, Babacan said initiatives which were launched by Arab world and international community should be supported, and election milieu should immediately be settled.
Regarding operation of Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in the north of Iraq, Babacan said the operation's sole target was terrorists.
On the other hand, Mottaki said his country was still assessing the issue of recognition of Kosovo.
