SOFIA - Turkish National Minister Vecdi Gonul said on Tuesday that there was a sincere and fruitful dialogue between the defense ministers of Southeastern Europe countries.
"Turkey backs every kind of initiative to make the region more secure and boost prosperity of the peoples," Gonul said while delivering a keynote speech in "Defense Ministers Meeting" of the Southeastern Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) held in Bulgarian capital of Sofia. He said Turkey paid utmost attention to the security of the region.
The meeting focuses on defense policies for security, co- operation and development in Southeastern Europe.
Commenting on Kosovo, Gonul recalled that Turkey was one of the countries acknowledging independence of Kosovo, and noted that, "Turkey adopts any solution that will ensure happiness and security of Kosovars."
Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Moldova and Albania attended the meeting along with Macedonia, Serbia and Croatia.
