THE HAGUE - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Saturday that they attributed great importance to development of inter-parliamentary bilateral relations.
Speaking at the EU Parliament Speakers' Conference in The Hague, Arinc said, ''further development of inter-parliamentary relations will make a valuable contribution to better comprehension of Europeanism and consolidation of friendly relations among our parliaments.''
Highlighting importance of benefiting from recent technological developments in improvement of inter-parliamentary cooperation and communication opportunities, Arinc said, ''I consider EU Inter-parliamentary Information Exchange (IPEX), which was put into practice with effective contributions of Parliamentary European Information Center, a very beneficial initiative to exchange views on legislative activities of our parliaments. Our parliament will appoint an expert in the coming days and fully participate in the project.''
The conference hosted by speakers of Dutch parliament and senate will end later in the day.
A final declaration is expected to be released at the end of the conference.
