Turkish Armed Forces Retires Turkish Troops From Northern Iraq

AH- Turkey decided to retire Turkish troops from Northern Iraq. 30 officers and noncommissioned officers charged in N.Iraq in the framework of the “Monitoring cease-fire force” from 1997 returned Turkey.
The Monitoring Chase-fire Force was founded in order to cease the clashes between the forces of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the forces of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
Stating that there was no need to the Monitoring Chase-fire Force any more, the officials of KDP and PUK had asked for retiring Turkish troops charged for this force and closing their offices.
After taking over the control by interim government from the occupation forces, Turkey decided to retire her troops form N.Iraq in grounds of expiring term period of The Monitoring Chase-fire Force.
Military officials said that there was difference between the Monitoring Chase-fire Force and the Turkish troops that were in the region to struggle against terror and keep bound security.
