GIRNE - President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Mehmet Ali Talat said Monday that it was "almost certain" that there would be "a new initiative" to reach a solution for Cyprus problem.
"Negotiations do start or they do not, but as the whole world admitted that the settlement is a must, it is almost certain that there will be a new initiative for settlement, even if that would be the last effort," Talat told a reception.
"All diplomatic feedbacks indicate that the UN will soon step in, and when it does, it will find by its side many Turkish Cypriots who sincerely want a solution. And we expect the same from Greek Cypriots as well," he said.
