U.S. Vice President Cheney Due In Turkey

ANKARA - U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney will go on a Middle East tour beginning on March 16th, 2008, also covering Turkey.
U.S. Embassy in Ankara, referring to a statement released by Cheney's office, stated that, VP Cheney would meet Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
U.S. Embassy statement said, "U.S. President Bush has asked the Vice President to travel to Oman, Saudi Arabia, Israel, the West Bank and Turkey for discussions with these key partners on issues of mutual interest. The Vice President will meet with Sultan Qaboos of Oman, King Abdullah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Olmert of Israel, President Abbas and Prime Minister Fayyad of the Palestine, and President Gul and Prime Minister Erdogan of Turkey, as well as senior officials of their respective governments."
Cheney's office did not provide any details of what issues would be discussed during his trip or what dates he would stop in each country.
