BURSA - Alexis Alexandris, Greek Consul General in Istanbul, said Monday Greece wished to see Turkey in Europe.
Paying a courtesy call to Bursa Governor Sahabettin Harput, Alexandris indicated that Greece wanted to see Turkey in Europe.
"Turkey's presence in Europe is important for Greece. Greece feels as if it has been left at a corner of Europe. Therefore, our economic relations do not develop. Our neighboring countries are not in Europe. We had a good start with Bulgaria and Romania. However, Turkey is the giant of the region. That is why our prime minister and foreign minister visited Turkey. We are on the side of Turkey and Turkey is a part of Europe," Alexandris told.
