PARIS - European aircraft maker Airbus said Monday it had secured 341 orders by the end of February this year, including 110 medium-haul A320s for China.
Its great US rival Boeing had chalked up 190 orders by March 4.
Airbus said in a statement that the orders included 50 of its long range A350 XWB (extra wide body) models, which will come into service in 2013.
In February, Korean Airlines ordered three of the A380 super jumbos, the world's largest passenger aircraft.
Deliveries came to 75 during the period, including one A380, 63 A320s and 11 A330s.
For its part, Boeing had won 190 orders as of March 4, including 133 for its medium-haul 737 and 40 of its 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with deliveries coming to 73, mostly 737s.
Last year, Airbus won 1,341 orders compared to Boeing's 1,413, but delivered 453 planes compared to 441.
