Cicek: Turkey And Northern Cyprus Are In Favor Of Solution

LEFKOSA - Turkish State Minister & Deputy PM Cemil Cicek said on Sunday Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) are in favor of a solution in regard to the Cyprus issue.
TRNC PM Ferdi Sabit Soyer, Cicek, TRNC FM Turgay Avci and Prof. Yusuf Ziya Ozcan, chairman of Higher Education Board (YOK), attended foundation laying ceremony of Medicine Faculty Hospital of Near East University.
Taking the floor in the ceremony, Cicek said a solution to the Cyprus issue should be based on the facts in the island.
"We hope that 2008 will be a year of opportunity for a lasting solution," Cicek said.
Turkey would keep exerting efforts aiming to boost standards of living of Turkish Cypriot people, he added.
