Ataturk's "Great Speech" In 11 Languages

ANKARA - "The Great Speech" (Nutuk) by Ataturk, founder of the modern Republic of Turkey, will be released to readers in 11 languages.
Prof. Sadik Tural, chairman of Ataturk Higher Board of Culture, Language and History, said Saturday that the speech will have been published in a total of 11 languages as of November 10th 2008, 70th anniversary of Ataturk`s demise.
Tural said Nutuk`s editions in English, German and French were reviewed and published again.
Moreover, the speech`s editions in Kyrgyz, Kazakh and Turkmen languages were prepared.
He said the speech was translated to Russian and Persian, while translations to Chinese and Arabic would be finalized soon.

The Great Speech (Nutuk), which relates events in the Turkish War of Independence, the foundation of the Turkish Republic and the carrying out of revolutionary reforms, is a work that the founder of the Turkish Republic Ataturk wrote himself and left to history. Ataturk read Nutuk on October 15th-20th 1927.
