ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister and Chief Negotiator for EU talks Ali Babacan said Friday a summit between Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy will not take place as such a meeting will open up Turkey`s EU aspirations for debate.
Answering a question motion in the parliament, Babacan indicated that a possible summit between Erdogan, Merkel and Sarkozy will not help Turkey.
Turkey defends that its negotiations with the EU are based on legal and political realities and that the country`s goal is full membership to the European Union, Babacan underlined.
