ANKARA - Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said on Wednesday that they hosted successfully NATO Summit which was very important for the promotion of Turkey and Istanbul.
Aksu held a news conference about NATO Istanbul Summit, stressing that reactions against NATO Summit showed Turkey's democratic maturity.
Recalling that Istanbul hosted this year Eurovision Song Contest, the meeting of European Union (EU) Ministers for small and medium scale enterprises (SMSEs), World Journalists' Association meeting, Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) meeting and NATO Summit, Aksu said that they were proud that Istanbul hosted such significant meetings and public opinion was pleased over them.
Aksu noted that police took effective security measures, stressing that meetings were held in tranquility. Aksu added that those meetings have a positive impact on economy and promotion of Turkey.
