WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Department of State on Thursday expressed pleasure over Iraqi President Jalal Talabani`s two-day visit to Turkey that will begin on Friday and said it encourages good neighborhood relations and talks between Turkey and Iraq.
In a daily press briefing, spokesman Tom Casey said they hope good and fruitful meetings, adding they were sure that both Turkey and Iraq would inform U.S. officials after the talks.
Casey said Turkey and Iraq will discuss cooperation against terrorist organization PKK, as well as economic issues.
He added that Turkey played a very positive role regarding Iraq and its neighbors.
