ANKARA - Turkey and the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) have agreed to establish a training center in Turkey, Turkish civil aviation sources said Thursday.
EUROCONTROL Director General David McMillan was in Turkish capital Ankara on Tuesday and he met with officials from the Transportation Ministry on the establishment of the training center, which Turkey had long been exerting efforts.
There are two EUROCONTROL training centers in Europe and Turkey aims to host the third one to contribute to the safety of air traffic in its region. The training center is expected to be preferred by countries in Caucasus, Central Europe and North Africa.
