ANKARA - Murat Sungur Bursa, CEO of Turkey's Zorlu Energy Corp., said Wednesday his company planned to increase its installed capacity to 3,500-4,000 megawatts by 2012.
Bursa released a statement following Zorlu Group's winning the tender for privatization of Tercan, Kuzgun, Mercan, Ikizdere, Cildir, Beykoy and Atakoy hydroelectric power plants, Denizli geothermal power plant and Engil Gas Turbines.
Bursa said Zorlu Energy became the owner of the natural gas plant in eastern province of Van, while it obtained the 30-year operating rights for Denizli geothermal power plant and the hydroelectric power plants located in central Anatolian province of Eskisehir, Black Sea provinces of Tokat and Rize, eastern provinces of Kars, Erzurum, Erzincan and southwestern province of Tunceli.
He also said that Zorlu Energy planned to participate in tenders to be held on renewable energy.
Zorlu Energy Corp. offered 510 million USD in Wednesday's auction.
A total of 27 companies participated at the auction. Among them were Calik Enerji A.S., Aksa Enerji A.S., Turkerler A.S., Kiler Alisveris A.S. and Ozaltin A.S.
