ANKARA - Members from a Turkish union and other civil society organizations protested Wednesday Israeli operations targeting the Gaza Strip, urging the Turkish government, NGO's and "world's intellectuals" to "take a firm stand against Israel."
"Israeli operations are against the law, humanity and ethics," said Ahmet Aksu, head of Turkey's Civil Servants' Union.
Aksu said the United Nations confined with expressing only concern and worry over the operations and stated that "lack of international deterrence" strengthened Israeli occupation of Palestine.
