Turkey Raises $764 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey has exported 197 thousand 176 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 764 million 494 thousand 268 U.S. dollars in the 43rd week of 2003-2004 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
According to the data of Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association, Turkey had been exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 154 thousand 441 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 23 thousand 908 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 11 thousand 747 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 7 thousand 80 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 237 thousand 864 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 545 million 75 thousand 948 U.S. dollars.
