ISTANBUL - Bomb experts identified the bomb exploded on the Turkish Airlines (THY) plane at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport as a C-4 plastic explosive, sources said on Tuesday.
Sources told A.A correspondent that bomb experts continue their investigation at the scene of the blast.
Security officials said that the explosion occurred as cleaners who boarded on the plane opened a wallet in which two grams of C-4 plastic explosive had earlier been placed.
Three cleaners boarded the THY Boeing 737-800 plane after it had landed at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport and after passengers, who flew from Aegean city of Izmir to Istanbul, had disembarked.
The cleaners found a package similar to a wallet and opened it when preparing the plane for the next flight.
The package which includes the C-4 plastic explosive went off. A cleaner named Ozgur Iskender lost his fingers while the other two cleaners were injured slightly.
Sources said that the plane was to fly to Stockholm after being cleaned.
Ozgur Iskender and Cevat Aydemir were taken to ''International Hospital'' in Istanbul and were currently undergoing surgery.
