T.H.Y. Confirms Three Cleaners Injured As A Package Explodes On Plane

ISTANBUL - Turkish Airlines (THY) confirmed on Tuesday that three cleaning people were injured as a package found on a plane, after it landed at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, exploded.
A statement released by the THY said that three cleaners boarded on the Boeing 737-800 plane after passengers, who flew from Aegean Izmir province to Istanbul, had disembarked, and found a package similar to a wallet, when preparing the plane for the next flight.
The statement said that the package exploded and noted that a cleaner named Ozgur Iskender lost fingers while the other two cleaners were injured slightly.
Passengers disembarked the THY Boeing 737-800 plane after it landed at the Ataturk Airport at 12.04 p.m. Cleaners found the package around 12.30 p.m.
An investigation is on the way.
