BERLIN - Germany has decided to contribute 180 police officers to the new European Union police and justice mission to Kosovo, government spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm said on Wednesday.
Wilhelm said this would make Germany the biggest contributor to the 1,800-strong mission, dubbed EULEX.
It will be made up of policemen, legal experts, prison guards and customs officials and is meant to ease the transition to local rule in Kosovo, which declared independence from Serbia last month.
