ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - Two Greenpeace activists, who hung a 30-meter long placard from the Bosphorus bridge to protest NATO, were deported from Turkey on Tuesday.
Greenpeace activists Nicky Davies from England and Australian William Peden were deported from Istanbul by Turkish Security Authorities to Amsterdam where they live.
The activists made victory signs, chanting "Nukes out of NATO" before getting on the plane.
Five Greenpeace members suspended themselves from the Bosphorus Bridge and hung a placard to protest the NATO Summit yesterday. Suspending themselves from the Bosphorus Bridge, the protesters chanted slogans against NATO and hung a placard read, "Nukes out of NATO ". Police had detained the 18 Greenpeace members including 3 foreigners.
