ANKARA - Ankara Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an investigation report about Democratic Society Party (DTP) deputy Emine Ayna and sent it to the Ministry of Justice to be submitted to the parliament for the removal of her political immunity.
The prosecutor's office asked the removal of Ayna's immunities on the grounds that she had made the propaganda of the terrorist organization PKK.
The investigation report made references to a DTP meeting's final declaration which Ayna delivered on December 26th, 2007 and said Ayna made the propaganda of PKK with her remarks. The final declaration had criticized a cross-border operation of the Turkish Armed Forces and claimed that the terrorist organization was actually a political organization demanding the solution of the Kurdish problem.
If Ayna's immunities are removed and a lawsuit is filed against her, she would face prison terms of one year up to three years.
