ANKARA (CIHAN) - An explosion occurred on Monday evening in the Turkish National Defense Ministry Fuel Oil Transfer Terminal and NATO Pool Facilities in Ankara. There were no reports of casualties.
The windows of the building were smashed by the blast. The Ankara Security Officer Ercüment Yilmaz told reporters that the satellite dish connection system exploded. He said that there was no bomb blast.
The area was cordoned by security officers. The anti-terror teams arrived in scene.
On Thursday, a percussion bomb exploded outside the Ankara Hilton Hotel wounding 3 people, just days before the visit of US President Bush to the Turkish capital.
Security is a top priority in Turkey as world leaders are attending the NATO summit in Istanbul.
