ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - NATO decided to end the mission of Stabilization Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina by end of 2004. The positive development in restoration of security in region prompted the decision to abolish the SFOR mission in Bosnia, the final declaration of the NATO summit said.
The declaration said that the political commitment of the NATO to Bosnia Herzegovina has not changed. Alliance said that Operation Active Endeavour has been playing important role against fight against the terrorism. The final declaration said that the scope the Operation Active Endeavor were extended to entire Mediterranean.
The final declaration added that alliance welcome the proposal from Ukraine and Russia to contribute the alliance operation.
