Number Of Foreign Pilots Flying Turkish Carriers Down

ANKARA - Number of foreign pilots working in Turkish aviation sector dropped by 66 percent in 2007 down to 93, sources with the country's civil aviation authority said.
Turkish airline companies were forced to import pilots due to a booming demand in air travel in 2005 and the figure made a peak, reaching as high as 220.
The drop came as a result of the introduction of financial incentives for civil aviation schools, the increase in quality of the training programs and hike in the number of aviation students.
