ANKARA (CIHAN) - The number of tourist who visited Turkey during the first five months of 2004 rose by 50.2 percent to 7.3 million people.
According to a statement issued by the State Statistic Institute, the number of tourist who visited Turkey during the first five months of 2004 reached 7.3 million people. This number was 4.8 million during the same period of 2003.
The number of tourists during May 2004 rose by 57.8 percent to 2.392 million from May 2003. German tourists (22.5%) were the largest group to visit Turkey in May followed by Russian (12%) and British (9.7%) tourists.
