GUL: MY VISIT WILL BRING MOMENTUM TO RELATIONS
ANKARA - Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Sunday that his visit to Romania will bring momentum to relations between Turkey and Romania, and strengthen the cooperation.
"We will exchange views about cooperation opportunities between the two countries as well as recent developments in the common region and international area," he added prior to his departure for Romania.
Recalling that Romania joined NATO in 2004 and EU on January 1st, 2007, Gul said that Turkey-Romania relations recorded an important progress throughout this period.
Stressing that there is no political problem between Turkey and Romania, Gul said that progress in cooperation between the two countries is contributing to the settlement of permanent peace and stability in Balkans and Black Sea region.
Gul noted that trade volume between Turkey and Romania reached seven billion USD by the end of 2007, adding that Turkish capital in Romania exceeded 650 million USD. He said that more than 10,000 Turkish companies are working in Romania.
Gul said that he will inaugurate the Business Forum which will be held with participation of Turkish and Romanian businessmen.
