Turkey - E.U. Joint Consultative Committee Meeting Held In Brussels

ANKARA - Turkey-EU Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) contact group meeting was held in Brussels.
JCC Turkey Co-chairman Semsi Bayraktar said that 2007 was not a productive year in Turkey-EU relations.
He added that developments in EU in 2007 started to negatively affect Turkey's EU accession process.
Noting that commitments to Turkey were not taken into consideration during EU Summit in December, 2007, Bayraktar said that this approach means violation of principle of pacta sund servanda.
Bayraktar also said that "privileged partnership" proposal is unacceptable for Turkey.
