BURSA - Turkish automotive industry, the propelling force of country's economy, has increased its exports by 68.2 percent in January and February 2008 over the same period of last year to reach 4.31 billion USD.
UIB said export of passenger cars mounted to 1.4 billion USD in the said period and topped the list of export items. This was followed by car by-products industry, commercial vehicles and buses-minibuses.
Turkish carmakers shipped their products mostly to European countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Britain and Spain.
