NEW YORK - Turkish State Minister Murat Basesgioglu said on Saturday that he visited the United States to make technical assessment within the scope of 2011 Winter Universiade which will be hosted by Turkish eastern province of Erzurum.
Basesgioglu told AA that hosting 2011 Winter Universiade is important both for Erzurum city, eastern Anatolian region and Turkey.
He noted that they will sign a contract with a U.S. company for the facilities which will be built in Erzurum. He added that ski facilities will be built in Palandoken, Kandilli and Konakli regions in Erzurum.
Basesgioglu had arrived in the United States on February 25th. He visited ski facilities in Salt Lake in Utah state.
