ISTANBUL - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met on Monday with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
Sources said that Berlusconi informed Erdogan about developments in the European Union (EU) in the meeting.
Sources stated that Berlusconi reiterated that Italy supported Turkey's EU membership process, stressing that Italy would continue to work on this issue.
Berlusconi congratulated Erdogan on organization of NATO Summit in Istanbul.
Sources added that Erdogan and Berlusconi also discussed Iraq, Afghanistan and fight against terrorism in the meeting.
