Turkish President Meets With His Georgian And Macedonian Counterparts

ISTANBUL - Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer met on Monday with his Georgian counterpart Mikhail Saakashvili and Macedonian counterpart Branko Crvenkovski, who are in Istanbul for the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit.
Following the meeting, Saakashvili told reporters that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accompanied by a large delegation of businessmen, would pay an official visit to Georgia on August 11.
Saakashvili said that enhancement of economic cooperation and facilitation of border transitions would be taken up during Erdogan's meetings in Georgia.
In the meantime, President Sezer's Foreign Policy Chief Adviser Sermet Atacanli told reporters that both Georgia and Macedonia were close friends of Turkey.
Atacanli said that Sezer reviewed bilateral relations with both Georgia and Macedonia during his meetings with presidents of these countries, and noted that Turkey had no problems with these countries.
Both Crvenkovski and Saakashvili invited Sezer to their countries.
