NATO Representative For Afghanistan Says NATO Has Be Successful In Country

ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - NATO`s Senior Civilian Representative for Afghanistan Hikmet Çetin said on Sunday that NATO has to be successful in Afghanistan. "NATO has no other option but to be successful in Afghanistan."
Speaking at conference on "NATO`s role in Afghanistan" jointly organized by the Turkey Economic and Social Studies Association (TESEV) and German Marshall Fund of the US (GMF-US), Cetin said that NATO is determinate to carry out reforms in certain areas to sustain the stability and security in Afghanistan. NATO`s Civilian Representative confessed that they faced with certain obstacles. "But, NATO has be successful Afghanistan not other option."
Stating that NATO has been playing important role in restoration of the security in Afghanistan, Çetin said that the reforms apart from security, judicial, militarily and political reforms will be underway in country.
The issue of Afghanistan is likely to be taken up the NATO summit in Istanbul. The 26 allies of the NATO will discuss expanding the mission of NATO in Afghanistan and will discuss increasing the alliance`s forces in security-lack country.
Cetin said that Afghanistan was center of wear on terror. Cetin said that the certain terror organization including Taliban, Al Qaeda and Hikmetyar have been operating in country.
NATO Senior Civilian Representative for Afghanistan promised that Afghanistan will take its place in democratic, legitimate and modern country in world.
