ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - Three Turkish workers were kidnapped in Iraq, the Qatar based channel reported on Saturday.
Qatar based Al Jazeere satellite channel aired the videos of the Turkish workers who were abducted by the militants of the Abu Musab Al Zarkavi.
The captors threatened to behead the Turkish hostages unless the Turkish constructors and construction firms, operating in Iraq leave country within 72 hours.
The Turkish embassy in Baghdad said that it was high possible that Turkish workers were taken hostage on Thursday. Two weeks ago, seven Turkish workers were kidnapped in Iraq but they were later released by the captors.
Iraqi militants had beheaded a South Korean hostage last week when the South Korean government rejected to withdraw their troops from Iraq.
The abduction of the Turkish workers coincides with the visit of the US President George W. Bush to Turkish capital, Ankara and ahead of the NATO Summit in Istanbul.
