ANKARA - Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer welcomed on Sunday U.S. President George Bush with full military honors at the Presidential Palace.
Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul, State Minister Besir Atalay, Turkish Ambassador in Washington Faruk Logoglu, Foreign Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Ali Tuygan, Ankara Governor Yahya Gur, Mayor Melih Gokcek also participated in the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, Sezer and Bush had a meeting. Foreign Minister Gul, U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, Bush`s National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice are also in attendance at the meeting.
Following his meeting with Bush, Sezer will host a working lunch in Bush`s honor at the Presidential Palace.
U.S. President Bush will proceed to Istanbul after he completes his meetings in Ankara on Sunday. Bush is scheduled to attend NATO Heads of State and Government Summit in Istanbul between June 28 and 29.
