WASHINGTON D.C. - Matt Bryza, a high level diplomat at the United States Department of State, said his country strongly supported endeavors of Turkey to eliminate PKK terrorism.
In an exclusive interview with the A.A correspondent, Bryza said, "I have previously stated that the United States strongly supported efforts of Turkey to eliminate PKK terrorism and expressed my hope that Turkey would continue to provide regional coordination in those efforts. I am pleased to say that Turkey did this on this matter."
When recalled that the U.S. made a call that the operation should be of the shortest duration possible and asked what kind of a duration did U.S. mean, Bryza said, "we have no specific date in mind, however the operation should be limited in time and its scope should target only the terrorists."
