ANKARA (CIHAN) - 43,119 foreigners have bought property in Turkey since July 2003 when the Turkish government eased restrictions on foreigners owning real estate in the country.
Turkish Minister of Housing and Rural Affairs, Zeki Ergezen revealed the figures in response to a question in the Turkish Parliament
Minister Ergezen said that the total number of properties bought by foreigners was 41,563 with 15,645 of these consisting of tracts of land.
Ergezen added that the total land bought by foreigners amounted to 331,181,350 square meters.
