ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - Many inhabitants of Istanbul - facing problems due to the extensive security measures in place for the NATO Summit in the city - have decided to leave the city for the summit's duration.
Due to security measures for the NATO Summit, many streets have been closed to traffic and three districts in Istanbul - where a total of about 300 thousand people live - will also be closed to people from outside of these districts.
The start of the primary and secondary school summer holidays, coinciding with the NATO summit, has further increased the number of people leaving Istanbul this weekend.
The increase in the numbers of people travelling has caused long queues for domestic flights at Istanbul Atatürk Airport.
