ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that NATO's open door policy should be continued into the future.
Speaking before the NATO Istanbul Summit to take place on June 27-29, Erdogan said that NATO should include Albania and Croatia and that NATO should also enlarge towards Eurasia.
In a speech addressed to members of the Foundation for Social and Economics Studies, Erdogan said that a great responsibility had been imposed on NATO for the solution of problems in the Middle East and that Turkey would contribute to the initiatives of NATO in the Middle East to secure peace and to increase the prosperity of the region.
Prime Minister Erdogan stated that the causes of terrorism should not be ignored and should always remain on the agenda. Erdoðan added that limited regional measures against terrorism would not be adequate to prevent terrorism and called for international cooperation.
