ADANA (CIHAN) - Two small bombs exploded in the southern Anatolian city of Adana on Friday night. The bombs caused some material damage but no injuries.
The two bombs exploded near a bus station belonging to a private bus firm in the Seyhan district of Adana on Friday causing material damage to nearby buildings but no injuries to people near the scene. Last Sunday, a percussion bomb also exploded in Istanbul near the same private bus firm. Again no one was injured.
Following the blasts, Adana Police increased security measures in the city.
Turkish police have taken unprecedented security measures for the NATO summit that will bring the leaders of 46 countries including US President George W. Bush, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and French President Jacques Chirac together in Istanbul.
Blasts in Istanbul and Ankara on Thursday killed four people and wounded 20. The first bomb exploded nearby the Ankara Hilton Hotel where US President George Bush will be staying during his Ankara visit on Saturday. Three people were wounded including two policemen. The second bomb exploded in a public bus in Istanbul on Thursday, leaving 4 people dead and 17 wounded.
