LEFKOSA - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat said on Saturday that his country was trying to integrate with the world.
Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Secretary General Aqeel Ahmad al-Jassem and the Deputy Secretary General are paying an official visit to TRNC as guest of TRNC Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Denktas.
Al-Jassem and his deputy visited Talat, Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce and Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Industry.
Speaking in the meeting, Talat said that TRNC wanted to further improve relations with the Islam world, and noted that TRNC needed Islam world's support and contributions to development of its economy.
Al-Jassem said that they wanted to further improve commercial relations and increase trade between TRNC and other Islam countries.
The ICCI would invite TRNC to meetings where it could find the opportunity to introduce itself as a state and a private sector, al-Jassem noted.
Appreciating Turkish Cypriot people's performance in April 24th simultaneous referenda in the island, al-Jassem said that TRNC's attitude was appreciated during the OIC Conference of Foreign Ministers.
Al-Jassem invited TRNC representatives to a meeting concerning the private sector to be held in Bahrain next February.
The delegation later attended luncheon hosted in their honor by Denktas.
The ICCI delegation is expected to depart from TRNC this evening.
