Turk Kindnapped In Afghanistan Rescued

ANKARA - Turkish citizen Salih Aksoy kidnapped in Afghanistan was rescued on Saturday thanks to efforts of Turkey, Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said.
Gul told A.A correspondent on the phone that Aksoy was taken to Turkey's Embassy in Kabul.
Turkish officials had spoke to Afghan officials by phone for many times after Aksoy was kidnapped, Gul said.
Gul noted that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a letter to Afghan President Hamid Karzai regarding the kidnapped Turk.
Aksoy and Tolga Erdem, who were working as an engineer in a company, had been attacked by Taleban militants on Kabul-Kandahar highway in March.
Erdem died in the attack while Aksoy and his Afghan translator were abducted.
