Tuzmen: Turkey Targets To Increase Trade Volume With Libya

TRIPOLI - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Friday that Turkey targeted to increase trade volume with Libya.
Tuzmen and an accompanying delegation went to Libya to improve bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
Speaking at the airport, Tuzmen said current trade volume between Turkey and Libya was around 1-1.5 billion U.S. dollars, ''Turkey targets to increase this figure to four billion U.S. dollars soon,'' he noted.
Tuzmen said trade relations between Turkey and Libya had gained momentum in 1970's yet that there was regression in contractor services and trade from 1990 to 2003 in the period when embargoes were imposed.
Tuzmen said Turkey wanted to initiate a new period with Libya in trade relations, ''we may make cooperation in energy, construction, and infrastructure projects,'' he noted.
Tuzmen said Turkey also wanted to sign a Free Trade Agreement with Libya.
