ANKARA - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc received on Friday Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF) Chairman Faruk Abdullah Abdurrahman and ITF Turkey representative Ahmet Muratli.
Arinc said that recent events in Iraq and the future of Iraq and Turkmen population were concerning 70 million people living in Turkey. He added that Turkish government and Parliament were closely following the developments in this region.
Arinc said, ''we wish that Iraqis live in peace and happiness and Turkmens be represented in a way they deserve within a democratic structure. We believe democratization will restore peace in Iraq. I want them to know that we follow the painful events which happened in the past and today with great concern. We are aware and sorry about the difficulties of Kirkuk society and our kinsmen.''
On the other hand ITF Chairman Abdurrahman said that three millions of Turkmen had expectations from Turkey and added that they were concerned with the events which have happened within the period that followed the removal of Saddam administration.
