ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - The Socialist International Summit will begin today in Istanbul.
The representatives of socialist parties in several countries including Germany, France and Italy will take up the Middle East conflict, along with peace and democracy ahead of the NATO Summit to take place in Istanbul on Monday and Tuesday.
The Turkish opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) will host the Socialist International Summit which will take place over two days.
The opening speech of the summit will be delivered by the CHP leader Deniz Baykal who is also the Vice Chairman of the Socialist International. During the Summit meetings, international peace, democracy and human rights will be discussed.
